CERT Search and Rescue Class - October 06, 2007

On Saturday October 6 at 4 PM the Milton Township CERT Team is hosting a joint FIELD TRAINING EXERCISE with the Addison CERT Team at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County at 3 S 580 Naperville Road, Wheaton, IL 60187-8761.

The timing is planned to involve night time training. Proper dress, fully operational equipment, (batteries/water/ snacks) and fun are required on your part if you sign up. Our training begins with a Forest Preserve Overview followed by an inside class room training session. Afterward staging, organizing and a in the field meal will happen. With darkness upon us actual field excercises will commence and a debriefing after for those who wish to see how the experts say we did. If you have other plans that night go ahead and keep them because we should be over with training by 7 PM and debriefing as long as the District wishes to field your questions.

Family Emergency Disaster Training Seminar

The City of Wood Dale and the police department will be hosting a Family Emergency Disaster Training seminar and a Hazardous Weather Spotting Class being hosted by the National Weather Service.

This training seminar is being offered to the general public at no cost.  The City is inviting members of local businesses, civic organizations, school members and the general public to participate.

The training will be held at the Wood Dale Junior High School Auditorium on May 2nd, 2007 between the hours of 7pm and 10pm.

The National Weather Service will begin training for certification in Hazardous Weather Spotter Training at 7pm.  After the completion of this class, a Family Emergency Disaster Planning seminar will take place.

Refreshments will be served.

CPR & AED Training

Session 1

Wednesday, April 11th from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM

The training will be held at the police station in the meeting room for the Citizen Corps.

The maximum class size is 20 for each day; members can 630-238-9526 to reserve their spot on either of the two days.

The new CPR and AED training certifications will be good for 3 years now (compared to only 1 year). The training will be facilitated by the Wood Dale Police Department; with one of the department members who is a certified CPR & AED instructor.

Session 2

If you cant make it to session 1 on Saturday, April 14th from 10:00 am until 2:00 PM the course will be repeated.

The training will be held at the police station in the meeting room for the Citizen Corps.
